Thoughts on China and Intellectual property

http://words.starblind.net/?p=125

Yesterday I have had time to discuss "Business in China" at International Management class. Among the talking point we had discussed during class was "What would you advise to a company that is planning to enter China market and is needed to protect their intellectual properties in China? Many colleague students came up with their own "creative" ideas to protect IP issues in China but there did not seem to be a "clear answer" from our professor's point of view. After I read this article, I got so important concept that Chinese got toward IP. "To a communist it would make sense that all innovations are done for the greater good, so intellectual property as a concept wouldn’t even come into play." We need to be careful with dealing with IP protection matters in emerging market like China reminding ourselves of that it will take some time.
