1 of 11 Road runner Steve Fambro was sick of people whizzing past him in the carpool lane, so he decided to do something about it. He set out to design a three-wheeled vehicle -- technically a motorcycle -- that would make it legal for him to drive alone in that lane and be cozy enough for daily commuting. With an infusion of $20 million from Idealab, Bill Gross's business incubator, Fambro's company, Aptera, is scheduled to begin production of the $30,000 electric hybrid later this year. -- Telis Demos

Due to high oil price, I have interest in 'drive alone' and high-altitude wind-extraction technologies especially.

The word "green" reminds me of some people's misconception of bioenergy. Current major bioenergies such as bioethanol from corn and sugar are not that environment friendly as they are consuming huge amount of fuel to be produced.
