SOA and MDM are complementary each other

I think that SOA boost the need of MDM system, in other words the bigger SOA market the bigger MDM market also.
The main concept of SOA is web service, which capsulize the transaction in common web service format. This means that the birth of SOA concept helps corporates to eaily integrate its legacy system with low costs without having to implement integrate package solutions.
The one interesting point to see is that to integrate legacy system there should be a hub system which knows what is the truth of source, ie, master data among many systems.For example, if we integrates customer data used in 3 legacy systems, MDM system has the master customer no and all customer attributes used in 3 legacy system.
For this reason, I think that the growing of SOA market will eventually increase the size of MDM market.
