Virgin warns against pirate downloads

This article tells about Virgin Media, one of ISPs that might take different move on pirate downloads subscribers from on-line sites. Normally ISP Company has no liability for illegal file sharing as the content is not hosted on their servers. However Virgin media "partially" agreed BPI (the music industry association)'s "three-strikes" rule, where a customer would be thrown off the network after two warnings. Virgin Media will involve writing letters to their subscribers who are sharing copyrighted files online, which I think Virgin Media would have negative impacts from their customers. I see this event as somewhat tricky. As ISP provider, Virgin Media should protect customers' private information while they are getting raising pressures from music on-line site and government at the same time. I think both music on-line sites and ISP providers need to find a way to establish new kinds of services to customers who really want to legally listen to music provided by current technologies.
